Quadro Communications Co-operative Inc., a telecommunications and Internet services provider operating in the St Marys, ON area is devoted to using advanced technology to provide customer-focused state-of-the-art communications services.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as a NETWORK TECHNICIAN. This position reports to the Network Operations Manager and is a full-time permanent position with a six month probationary period.


NETWORK TECHNICIAN - Responsibilities

* Configuration and maintenance of Occam/Foundry/Cisco equipment

* Provisioning and troubleshooting fibre-to-the-home services using Taqua soft-switch,
OccamView, OCM, DMS-100

* Assisting with server administration duties, including security audits, updates, new server installations, etc.

* Tier 2 Technical Support

* Data Entry

* Testing equipment and starting RMA processes

* Assisting with documenting and analyzing network on a day to day basis

The ideal candidate has:

* Formal technical training, with preference being given to an individual with a post-secondary education or experience in job related employment.

* Experience in Linux/Unix/BSD including DHCP, PHP, IPTABLES, CARP, PF

* In-depth TCP/IP and OSI knowledge, including layer 2 and layer 3 network protocols such as VLAN, IGMP, MRP, EPS, STP, OSPF

* Previous telecommunications experience a plus

* Experience in server administration and IT environment

* In-depth computer hardware knowledge

* Excellent troubleshooting skills

*Technical Support for all Internet Services – DSL, fibre, wireless, dial-up, web hosting

* Provisioning and support of all Fibre-to-the-Home services using Taqua soft-switch, OccamView, OCM, DMS-100

* Data Entry& Documentation

* Testing & Programming Equipment

* Basic networking

The ideal candidate has

* Formal technical training or job related experience

* Experience with xDSL technologies including Paradyne/Zhone, Occam

* Basic to advanced TCP/IP and DNS knowledge

* Previous experience in call-centre environment a plus

* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS

* Knowledge of computer hardware

* Excellent troubleshooting skills
