Business/ Onsite or Hosted

Onsite or Hosted, that is the question.

Having the right business phone system can drastically improve your business. Having an up-to-date and modern phone system can save you time, money and the ability to stay connected to your customers, no matter where you are.

We get it, phone systems can be confusing.  You may even have questions, such as:

  • How do I start to upgrade my business phone system?
  • What do I need to know before investing?
  • What are the advantages/disadvantages to onsite vs hosted?
  • What are the different types of business phone systems?
  • Which phone system is right for my business?

First, a quick definition of what a PBX means. A PBX (private branch exchange) is a telephone system within an enterprise that switches calls between enterprise users on local lines while allowing all users to share a certain number of external phone lines. There are two types of traditional PBX traditional phone lines and an IP PBX for Voice-Over-Internet-Phone (Voip) systems.

When you speak with your Quadro Business Solutions representative, they will discuss with you two distinct options for your business phone system. They are having the phone system on-site or hosted for you on Quadro’s network.  See the information below and then contact your Quadro representative to begin a conversation.

Onsite Business Phone System

An Onsite PBX or IP PBX systems remain on the premises of a Local Area Network (LAN) of an end-user.

Typically, medium-sized to larger enterprises find investing in an on-site system appealing because it gives them direct access and control over their Voice over IP (VoIP) system, including how many extensions to add to a network.

Though on-site IP PBX systems are able to be customized, they do not come without their limitations. Network administrators are responsible for updating and maintaining their hardware.  Should the hardware fail, businesses will absorb the costs.

Hosted

Hosted IP PBX systems offer a maintenance-free solution that will bring the VoIP benefits to a workplace without the hassle of maintaining and updating the equipment.

The off-site solution eliminates the need to purchase or upgrade hardware. The low upfront cost is charged as a monthly fee per user. Hosted IP PBX systems are ideal for small to medium-sized businesses. Get more flexibility with your hosted systems as it is ideal for telecommuters in different locations and that require access to a business phone (example, sales teams that work off-site).

Benefits to a Hosted System:

  • No busy signals or missed calls – your customer calls are forwarded seamlessly.
  • On-hold messaging, add music or a custom message about your business (holiday hours/promotion/event).
  • Provides multiple extensions and voice mail.
  • User friendly interface for managing your system.
  • Competitive monthly fees and rates.
  • Dedicated technical support.
