In the early
hours of Wed., February 4, 1880, five members of a Biddulph Township family
met their death at the hands of their neighbours. Since that occurrence
in Canadian history, stories have been told, books written, songs sung,
and plays performed that have reached, and sustained interest and fascination
in this tragedy.
